Requirements

The short description is to be submitted in the form of a Word document or PDF and includes a synopsis (approx. 500 characters) as well as a short presentation of the submission on the evaluation criteria. The total length should not exceed 2,500 characters.

The description of your project, solution, business model or scientific work should take the form of a short video (pitch, explainer video, or similar).

  • It is not necessarily about technically complex videos. Even a simple cell phone recording with a snazzy introduction of the idea or project by a spokesperson is absolutely sufficient!
  • Beyond that, of course, anything is possible. Draw on a whiteboard, build a model, work with graphic tools – there are many ways to convince.
  • The idea itself is what counts first and foremost. Authenticity and clarity in the presentation is a must, additional originality in the presentation is an absolute plus and certainly helps to be presented on the website. Technical finesse of the video is not a prerequisite.

Important notes:

  • Duration of the video max. 1:30 minutes (longer videos are not provided in the format).
  • Format mov or mp4 / HD quality is desirable
  • After registration you will receive an upload link from us, where you can upload the video to our disposal. Please do not start and end with a “black frame”, but with the first frame or fade to white.

If you submit photos or videos of recognizable persons (e.g. interview partners, employees), we require a written declaration of consent from them. Otherwise, the image must be distorted, e.g. partially covered, in such a way that identification of the person is not possible.

Please do not use any third-party works in your videos to which you do not have explicit written rights for use in this context (graphics, illustrations, music, sounds, moving image material, powerpoints).

After the submission deadline, a selection of the videos will be published on the MIA website.

Entrants agree to the publication of all supplied photos and data of the plant. Photos must be free of copyrights, the organizers of the competition have the right to use supplied photos in their publications about the competition (print, Internet, exhibition…) without fee payment.

By entering the competition, the entrant assigns to the organizers, free of charge, the rights of use and exploitation for publications of the organizers in connection with the competition. They agree to the data being stored and the documents being published.

All submissions will be reviewed by a panel of experts and will participate in the Mission Innovation Austria award in the categories Resilient Energy Systems, Tech Solution and Local Hero and Entrepreneur. The jury’s decision is final. The legal process is excluded. The winner in the Next Generation category will be selected by public voting.
